North Fulton remembers Sept. 11 Roswell arose early to honor the martyrs of Sept. 11. The service began at 8:30 in the morning at the city’s Vietnam Memorial, and marked with the tolling of a fire station bell each of the hijacked passenger planes to the hour and minute when they went down. Alpharetta and Milton in a joint ceremony honored the fallen at a service and released white doves at the end. At both services, speakers noted the devotion to duty of fire, police and EMT personnel and the sacrifices they made.
And so North Fulton joined with the nation, as every city and hamlet stopped on this day to honor those who showed courage that day, and those who continue the fight today.
